HOTEL REVIEW: The Nicholas Hotel Residence, Prague

I had the pleasure to stay at The Nicholas Hotel Residence in Prague for one night.

The Nicholas Hotel Residence is a luxury boutique hotel providing unique home-feel experience for its guests. The hotel is suitable for anyone whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple or coming with your family. Overall, my experience was fantastic and I would recommend the hotel for anyone visiting Prague.

ABOUT THE HOTEL

The Nicholas Hotel Residence is located in an historical building, built in 1786, at the top of Rococo Palace. It is an intimate boutique hotel, with only nine suites.

The hotel is also a part of the Bohemian Hostels&Hotels group along with 3 hostels and another boutique hotel in Prague.

THE ROOM

My room had a living room with a sofa, a table, and a kitchen. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you’ll need to make a nice meal. In addition, it included a mini bar and a coffee machine for coffee lover like myself. The bedroom was located upstairs on the attic which was on the second floor. Walking into the room I got a home-like feeling since the room had everything an apartment would have. It was nicely decorated with wooden floor and wooden furniture to match.

LOCATION

The hotel is located at the heart of Mala Strana, Prague’s old city, in Lesser Square. The hotel is a short walking distance from the town’s famous attractions such as Charles Bridge, St. Nicholas’ Church and the beautiful Prague Castle. The hotel is also surrounded by a wide variety of restaurants to fit everyone’s preferences and needs.

Right outside the hotel you can taste the traditional Trdelnik

The view from Prague Castle

Notably, what I loved the most about the location was not only how easy it was to walk to the main attractions; but also the view I got from my window of the beautiful old Lesser Square and the neighborhood itself.

Having also stayed in another hotel on a different location in Prague, I can reassure you that the Nicholas Hotel Residence has the best location by far.

BREAKFAST

The breakfast is self-catered and the buffet is situated right outside your room. Thus, guests can eat their breakfast in the comfort of your room.  It can’t get more home-like feeling than that.

UNIQUE PLACES TO VISIT IN PRAGUE AS RECOMMENDED BY THE HOTEL STAFF

When I arrived at the hotel staff greeted me nicely and provided me with a list of recommended places loved by locals.

For shopping:

Vnitroblok: Café/gallery concept store with local designs.

Harddecore: Home furniture store.

Parazit: Local fashion featuring quirky and funky designs.

Leeda: Local fashion

Playbag: That’s where you can find unique bags and backpacks.

For food:

Lokál Dlouhááá: traditional Czech food.

Kavárna Nový Svět: Hidden local café.

MY EXPERIENCE

To conclude, I absolutely enjoyed my stay! I loved the hotel’s location, friendly staff and my beautifully decorated wooden suit. Besides, staying in an historic building was a truly unique experience in itself.
