Lunch at Bingham Riverhouse Hotel in Richmond

Located at the riverside of the charming town of Richmond, is the historical hotel Bingham Riverhouse. I was invited to dine at Bingham Riverhouse for a 3-course lunch. Upon entering the hotel, I noticed a relaxed atmosphere. Perhaps, it is their proximity to the river and the beautiful views, or perhaps it is the rich history of the building. Whatever it was, I felt completely at home.

ABOUT BINGHAM RIVERHOUSE

The historical hotel is newly refurbished and is the perfect relaxing and friendly gateway. The building was originally built as two Georgian houses from 1899. The house became a literary hub as Katherine Bradley and Edith Cooper penned poems and plays under the pseudonym Michael Field. Then, it was bought in 1984 by the Trinder family who still owns the house to these days.

The hotel features an award-winning upscale restaurant that serves British cuisine. It features fresh and seasonal ingredients and an impressive wine list. Led by head chef Andy Cole, the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon-tea and dinner.

THE FOOD

The menu at Bingham Riverhouse offers upscale dishes with options of veggie, chicken, fish or meat. Being a lover of veggie food and non-meat eater, I opted for the vegetarian first course: a delicious risotto with watercress, Thai pickled shallots, broad beans and horseradish cream. Especially, I loved the presentation of the food. My risotto not only tasted amazing but it was also so well-presented and colourful.

For main I chose the salt baked beetroot salad with quinoa and avocado. This meal was surprisingly fulfilling, especially combined with the sweet-potato and chips we had as side dishes.

Desserts are always my favourite, and I was not disappointed. I ordered a Banoffee cheesecake with a special twist of caramelised popcorn and salted caramel ice cream.

I went for lunch with a friend and it was the perfect opportunity for us to catch-up over a delicious meal. We both really loved the location and interior of the hotel. The staff were highly accommodating for every request we have had and made us feel so welcome. Our food was mouth-watering and we really enjoyed our time. Bingham Riverhouse provides an amazing dinning experience along with a winning riverside location and beautiful decor.
