Luxury Guide to Monte Carlo, Monaco: What To Do & Where To Stay

Monaco has a glamorous reputation of a luxurious small country where all the billionaires live. When you think of Monaco you probably think of yachts, gambling, and wealth.

Located on the French Riviera, Monaco is indeed a playground for the wealthiest. It also have drawn celebrities from all over the world due to its luxurious and high profiled events such as Monaco Grand Prix and Monaco Yacht Show.

But how life is really like in Monaco? If you’re curious about Monaco and would like to see it for yourself, don’t hesitate to book your trip and experience the posh lifestyle like the rich people do.

Here I’ve curated the perfect guide for you to experience Monaco’s luxury life:

WHAT TO DO

Believe it or not, Monaco has touristic spots that you should not miss out on.

Here is a list of places to go to while visiting:

  • Casino Monte Carlo: This is the world’s most famous casino. Even if you’re not a gambler the casino is a must-visit for its beautiful and impressive architecture and interior.
  • Prince’s Palace of Monaco: The Prince’s Palace of Monaco is the official residence of the Sovereign Prince of Monaco.
  • The Port: Take a walk around the beautiful port before climbing up to seeing it from above for the most amazing views.
  • Porte Neuve: This famous avenue has breathtaking views of Monaco and it is also where you can find the famous picture-frame and pose for a winning instagram photo.
  • Jardin Exotique de Monaco: An impressive botanical gardens located on a cliffside
  • Larvotto: This beach is “the”-place-t0-be.
  • Rock of Monaco: The Rock of Monaco overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and the port.
  • Japanese Garden: a Japanese style municipal park.

WHERE TO STAY

We chose to stay at one of the best hotels in Monaco, Hotel Hermitage Monte Carlo. Situated at the heart of Monte Carlo and providing one of the best views of town, the hotel is the perfect place to stay in Monaco.

Hermitage hotel is heaven for architecture lovers with its elegant designs and  posh Belle Epoque-style rooms. It is well worth staying there for its facilities: the beautiful courtyard, the restaurant and the luxurious spa. Located only 5-minutes walk from Monte Carlo Casino and 2.5 km from Larvotto Beach, the location is unbeatable.

Indeed, it is the perfect place to stay and explore Monaco, especially for first time visitors. I couldn’t stop admiring how beautiful this hotel was. It was on my bucket list for years and on my third visit to Monaco I decided that I have to stay there. Clearly, I was not disappointed.

WHERE TO EAT

  • Le Bar Américain: A fancy American-style restaurant located at Hotel de Paris
  • Le Louis XV- Alain Ducasse: Fine dinning restaurant featuring international cuisine.
  • Buddha-Bar Monte Carlo: high-profiled restaurant and bar.
  • Nobu: a famous chained restaurant featuring fancy Japanese dishes.

WHERE TO SHOP

Metropole Shopping Centre is the place to shop, have a coffee and enjoy the day. It has a mix of high-end stores and as well as boutiques.

MONACO’S HOT SPOTS

  • Cafe de Paris: This famous cafe is a hot spot for the rich and famous.
  • Nikki Beach: Nikki Beach is world renowned beach club with the most famous one is perhaps this one in Monte Carlo located at Fairmont hotel.
  • Horizon Deck: The breathtaking view from this bar makes it the perfect hang out place in Monaco.
  • Twiga: Luxurious bar & restaurant.
