Exploring Soho’s Hidden Gems and Luxury spots

Soho is definitely one of London’s most popular neighbourhoods, and it’s easy to understand why. It is vibrant, colourful, and fun. Filled with restaurants, pubs, cafes, hotels and shops- it is never boring in Soho.

Soho is a great place to stay as a tourist. It is an excellent central location and there are many hotels in Soho to choose from. However, calling London home means that you don’t get to explore often like a tourist would, because life gets in the way. That is why, I decided to dedicate the time to explore the neighbourhood and hopefully discover and visit new  gorgeous spots.

LUXURY SPOTS AND HIDDEN GEMS IN SOHO LONDON:

Cakes & Bubbles

My journey through Soho brought me to this first location, Cakes & Bubbles. Located at Cafe Royal Hotel in Soho, Cakes & Bubbles is an upscale dessert restaurant. The restaurant was open by Albert Adrià, a Spanish Michelin star chef, and quickly took off since opening last year. With a wide selection of Champagnes and sparkling wines to exceptional desserts- it is a must visit for any dessert and champagne lover.

I’ve had the pleasure to try the golden egg and the raspberry eclair, along with a French champagne.

Indeed, Cakes & Bubbles provides a sweet and luxury dinning experience. Having opened recently, the restaurant is a truly hidden gem and a must-visit on your London bucket list.

Thomas’s At Burberry

Located at the edge of Soho, on Regent’s Streets, is an upscale cafe by the British fashion house Burberry. On the second floor, you can find an upscale luxury restaurant featuring an all-day dinning and afternoon-tea. On the ground floor, is a fancy cafe with delicious pastries and impressive interior.

I opted for the pistachio cake and a latte, while my friend ordered a green tea. Also, the staff were very friendly. It wasn’t breakfast at Tiffany but it was coffee and cake at Burberry.

To get to the cafe you need to enter from the side of the Burberry store, making it a bit difficult to find and therefore a hidden gem as well.

Farm Girl @Sweaty Betty

Farm girl is a popular Australian restaurant with locations in Notting Hill and Chelsea. However, the branch in Soho is hidden above the sports clothing store Sweaty Betty and therefore less known. A true hidden gem, Fram Girl cafe provides a relaxing escape from the busy streets of Soho. Farm Girl is known for being healthy-conscious serving açai bowls, avocado toasts, salads and granola.

As I needed a quick coffee break, I opted for the charcoal latte. Yes, you heard it right, charcoal. Charcoal latte is the new healthy latte trend on the scene claiming many health benefits. The charcoal is promised to help you detoxify. Despite of its black colour, the latte is actually very sweet and delicious.

The Detox Kitchen

Continuing with the healthy trend, for my lunch I headed to the Detox Kitchen. Being 3 months before my wedding date means that I often tend to go for the healthiest food choices. The Detox Kitchen never disappoints when it comes to providing the tastiest healthy meals. I had the chicken Satay and a side salad with aubergine. If you’re into healthy food, then this is the place to know in Soho.

Cutter & Squidge

Cutter & Squidge is a stylish bakery and cafe, serving delicious cakes and afternoon tea. Their signature pastry is a Biskie. Biskie is a unique handmade sandwiched dessert. Essentially, it is a cookie or biscuit stuffed with special buttercream, jams and other fillings. I made sure to pick up a Caramel Biskie to take home to my fiancé.

L’ETO Soho

L’ETO is a trendy cafe that serves Mediterranean influences dish such as Shakshuka. With overall five branches in London, I am amazed that I have only recently discovered this cafe (Local, ah?). I went there for breakfast with a friend and ordered the poached egg and avocado on green bread.

After having breakfast at L’ETO I can safely say that it is now my new favourite spot. Especially, for breakfast and brunch.

At last, we ordered the Pistachio Rose & Raspberry Cake as I’ve heard that they are specialised in delicious cakes. Indeed, the cakes and desserts at L’ETO all look so mouth-watering. They also have some special lattes and hot chocolates that are definitely worth trying.
