MY EXPERIENCE

While staying at Akara Bangkok, I had the chance to practice my cooking skills and learn authentic Thai cooking. I have learned what are the main ingredients that form the Thai cuisine and how to use them to make delicious meals.

The school were able to cater to our dietary requirements and offered a private vegetarian cooking class especially for us. During the class we were able to learn about the Thai cuisine and its unique characteristic and flavours. One thing that stood out to us was the use of palm sugar instead of the sugar we are used to.

Our teacher was patient, knowledgable and friendly. She happily shared her knowledge and helped us when we were struggling.

Thai vegetarian menu:

Papaya Salad

Massaman Chicken Curry

Mah Hor

Phad Thai Gai

That This Krob

Following the class, we each had 6 vegetarian dishes that we made. We were then escorted to the upper floor for a quick cocktail making class. We took our cocktails up to the hotel’s restaurants where we had that food we made beautifully presented and ready for us to eat. What a wonderful experience!
