Walk Through Paradise with These 6 Beautiful Hiking Trails

There’s no doubt about it, beautiful views and scenery are a key part of what makes hiking trips so memorable. Hiking can be hard work, but admiring the view after you’ve spent time and effort trying to reach it is a worthy reward. Why not add these six stunning trails to your travel list?

Valley of the Flowers, Himalayas, India

With its grassy meadows, gushing waterfalls, and snowy mountains, India offers many different environments and you can often experience them all in a single trip. Visit the Valley of the Flowers in August or early September and the mountain slopes will be covered with brightly coloured flora as far as the eye can see.

Tongariro Alpine Crossing, North Island, New Zealand

New Zealand is renowned for its beautiful countryside, and you’re practically guaranteed a stellar view no matter where you go. Film fans will love The Tongariro Alpine Crossing, where the volcanic landscape was the location for Mordor during the filming of The Lord of the Rings. Expect to see flowing lava, emerald-green lakes, and enormous craters.

Paradise Valley, Agadir, Morocco

This beautiful gorge, set just inland of the beach, more than lives up to its name with its abundance of palm trees and waterfalls. In the area for a day trip? Take a walk to the Cascades waterfalls. There’s also a longer hike to Imouzzer Ida OuTanane, a charming rural community at the foot of the Atlas Mountains.

Gorham Mountain Trail, Maine, USA

Want to start hiking but not sure which route to take? The Gorham Mountain Trail’s highest point is 525 feet and it’s a steady climb through spruce forests, so it won’t be too daunting for beginners. You’ll be rewarded with spectacular, panoramic ocean views (and wild blueberries when they’re in season).

The Overland Track, Tasmania, Australia

Venture into the wilderness of Tasmania on the Overland Track, one of Australia’s best-known and most challenging hikes. This trail requires careful planning and a good level of physical fitness, since you’ll be dealing with rapidly changing weather and stony alpine peaks, but if you’re prepared then the views make it all worth it.

SentieroAzzurro, Cinque Terre, Italy

Get a refreshing dose of Italian culture along as you hike along the coastal paths of the SentieroAzzurro, a.k.a. the Blue Trail. The four paths which make up the route can be completed in a single day, but give yourself some extra time to really make the most of those sea views.
